The 6x8 Display System Combat Displays’ ruggedized 6x8 Inch LED Illuminated Display System is a highly integrated, military tested display solution, capable of showing both commercial and military video formats. Our design combines state-of-the-art Pixelworks image scaling and Texas Instruments DLP® processing with SCRAM Technologies’ Polymer Screen structure, optics and LED illuminator.
The Technology Digital Light Processing® Technology is the microdisplay of choice in the best digital projectors available today. The DLP® recreates source material with fidelity that analog systems cannot match. Combined with Pixelworks DNX™ (Digital Natural Expression) technology, a clear, dramatically enhanced, natural-looking, quality video image is delivered for both standard and high definition inputs. Add LED illumination and the result is an all solid state design with significant increases in MTBF and drastic reductions in power, weight and cooling requirements.
The 6x8 Inch display is optically engineered, with features such as sunlight readability, high brightness Day mode and low brightness Night mode, NVIS compliance, and night vision goggle compatibility.
V ideo Sources and Scaling Computer and video images from NTSC/PAL to WUXGA at virtually any refresh rate can be resized to fit on a fixed-frequency target display device with XGA, WXGA or SXGA+ resolutions. Video data from 4:3 aspect ratio, NTSC or PAL, and 16:9 aspect ratio, HDTV or SDTV, is supported. Multi-region, nonlinear scaling allows these inputs to be resized optimally for the native resolution of the display. Processing the image data in 10 bits provides significant signal-to-noise ratio improvements compared to 8-bit data processing. Pixelworks Vertical and Horizontal Peaking, Digital Luminance Transient Improvement (DLTI), and Digital Chroma Transient Improvement (DCTI) allow sharper images and provide more control over the final image quality.
